Hand washing is a must for children in the home
Teaching hand washing to children is vitally important, according to a recent report on the Babycenter blog.
The article, written by Kierste Wade, is called “6 easy ways to help keep your kids & home virtually germ-free”. Ms Wade is in no doubt about the importance of teaching hand washing to children. Indeed, the activity accounts for two of her six significant points on the list.
Point 1: Children should wash hands as soon as they get home from school.
“This is crucial. There are so many germs at school, and they inevitably come home. Washing their hands as soon as they come in the door helps to stop them at the point of entry before they can spread like wildfire!”
Point 4: The importance of encouraging frequent hand washing.
“Washing before meals, after using the bathroom, and when they come in from being outside are definites, but there are other times during the day to wash as well.”
The article, importantly, draws attention to the importance of making hand washing entertaining for little ones – and suggests a number of ways in which the activity can be presented as a fun one.
