Personal, Social and Emotional Development
On page 44 of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage in “Personal, Social and Emotional Development”, as key aspects of “Dispositions and Attitudes” are the following key points:-
“Dresses, undresses and manages own personal hygiene with adult support.”
“Dresses and undresses independently and manages own personal hygiene.”
One of the key aspects of Personal, Social and Emotional Development is Self-care. The Learning and Development card (DCSF) states:-
Self-care – is about how children gain a sense of self-respect and concern for their own personal hygiene and care and how they develop independence.
